Industrial gala
The gala in a space that wasn't built for it: a former power plant, a factory hall, an old cable works. Full production, nothing left behind.
How it runs
- Build daysPower, heat, kitchen, toilets, light and sound brought in.
- DoorsGuests walk into a space they've never seen this way.
- Dinner and showLong tables in the hall, one strong moment.
- StrikeEverything out. Nothing to landfill.
What to know
- Industrial spaces need everything brought in: power, heat, toilets, kitchen.
- Build and strike take days. The hire includes them.
- Everything is rented, reused or recycled.
Good for
Company galas, anniversaries, big kick-off nights.
Not for
Small groups, or anyone wanting hotel-ballroom comfort.
Questions planners ask
Is it more expensive than a hotel ballroom?
Usually, because everything is brought in. The difference is the evening people remember.
Is it warm enough in winter?
Yes, with temporary heating planned in from day one.
Which spaces are available?
It changes year to year. We keep a list of what's open and what's coming.
Thinking of doing this?
Borrow the idea, it's yours. If you'd like a hand, or just a second opinion on whether it suits your group, write to me. I produce ideas like this one at Sorry, No Polar Bears, a Helsinki studio I co-run.
